Fear-clenched hands
Shield innocent eyes

The glass screams and shatters
Into a man that does the same.

Collision.

The two-ton beasts depart from one another,
Screaming,
Sliding,
Stopping.

You don't deserve it,
But you sleep so soon.
At least He gave you that.

At least He gave you the quiet, dark night.
We all will miss you.

This is another moment-oriented, "eastern" poem I wrote. This is probably the most moment-oriented of the bunch I'm uploading, so I hope you can see what I'm going for here.

A friend-of-a-friend died and it really affected me for some reason I can't quite grasp. He was killed by a drunk driver and I felt compelled to write about this person I did not know.

Let me know what you think.
